Lorde Takes On Two Of Kanye West’s Songs In His Hometown Of Chicago

Watch the fan footage of the performances here

The USA leg of Lorde’s ‘Melodrama’ world tour hit Chicago last night and the singer took the opportunity to pay tribute to one of the city’s most famous rappers.

The ‘Green Light’ singer played a show at the city’s Allstate Arena, and told the audience “it must be nice to come from the same place as Kanye West”, before covering two of his biggest hits. The New Zealand star then treated the crowd to an acapella version of Kanye’s ‘Love Lockdown’, as well as a mash-up of the rapper’s song ‘Runaway’ with her own song ‘Liability’. You can watch both performances in the clips below:

Lorde is currently on tour in the USA with Run The Jewels. The singer has been on the road with her ‘Melodrama’ tour since September 2017. Although she’s already played her UK tour dates, you’ll be able to catch her at a few UK festivals this year, including ‘All Points East’ a brand new festival coming to London and ‘Parklife’, which takes place in Manchester.
